FAQs

Here’s some questions I have heard frequently over my 20+ years of filming Weddings. The answers will give you a great feel for my approach to Wedding Videography, and help you know what Wedding video package will be a great match for you both. We’ll also help you decide between a short highlight reel and a longer film to relive all those cherished memories. Finally, we explain our editing timeline, so you know exactly what to expect.

Hell yes. Perth is spoilt with the number of talented photographers and the great thing about working alongside them is they each have a different approach to how they capture your special day. For me, this means I can constantly be learning different ways to capture your film so that I am always evolving as your videographer.

All of our collections include 2 videographers and you will love the reasons for this. First, in the morning when you both are getting ready, we can split up and capture those moments simultaneously. This means the Groom can get ready at his normal time (if you only have one videographer, the Groom would have to get ready hours early so that we can get to the Bride in time)

Second, all your main moments will be covered by multiple angles. For example, when you walk down the aisle, the second videographer will be filming your Groom to get his reaction. When you have your speeches, one camera is focusing on the speech maker, whilst the other can get guests reactions. That’s just a few examples of why you will love having the second camera person.

You will get a lot of advice and tips in the lead up to your Wedding but here’s one that you probably haven’t heard that will really help you have an awesome day.

Have a good cooked breakfast

Usually around lunchtime you are either getting ready for your Wedding or arriving at your Ceremony. Either way, the chances are is that you will miss lunch. You use a lot of energy on your day with all the adrenaline and/or nerves that you may be feeling so it’s important that you start the day with a good foundation. Something like bacon and eggs or smashed avo. This means if you do miss lunch, you will still have a good foundation to get through the rest of the day until your dinner at Reception.

Even if you plan to bring food to your location shoot, you may not feel like eating or you are too busy getting fantastic photos and video to actually take time out to eat. So a cooked breakfast is the way to go.

You will hear from most videographers “You won’t ever watch a long video” but I, and more importantly, my couples, would strongly disagree. It is very easy to excite you with a highlights video that last 5-10 minutes, all the best bits from your day are presented in a beautiful cinematic highlights – this is all that you want right?

Now just for a moment, I would like to talk to future you. What would you like to watch on your 10th Wedding anniversary? You’ve opened a bottle of wine, you sit down on the couch and it’s over in 5 minutes! I promise that, future you will love something more comprehensive, not just the best bits, but those smaller, more personal moments as well. A film that takes you right back to your special day with all your family and friends. So if you think you only want a 5 minute film, take a moment to ask future you what they would like.

Full disclosure, I’m a slow editor. But that’s only because I love to take the time to really craft your personal story, after all your wedding is unique and so is your film. I aim to have your film in front of your eyeballs in between 12 and 16 weeks, but sometimes I do go a bit over.
