I have been filming weddings for over 20 years and I still love my work – and this is…you guessed it…awesome!

I love filming, capturing moments and moods, to tell stories about people. Stories that will live on long after the moment happened. And this is what inspires me with filming weddings. There are few chapters in our life story that has as a special place in heart than our Wedding day. It’s about love, it’s about family, it’s about friends. And I get the privilege of capturing it all for my couples. And that too, is awesome.

Michael Jepson

Chief videographer and founder. [

Michael is the chief driver and multi-award winner behind Inception Video. He graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor of Arts in media studies. In 2001, Michael helped start Phenomenon Video which he later purchased and relaunched in 2010 as Inception Video.

“I love finding out what makes the Wedding Day unique to each of our couples. What is their story? What does getting married mean to them?” Michael has filmed almost 1000 weddings in almost 25 years and his passion is still growing. “The amazing thing about this job is that you never stop learning– every couple is unique, every story is an original, every supplier is talented. And I get to create something for my couples that becomes a treasured family heirloom”.

Likes: Life – Travelling, filming and learning. Avid Perth Glory supporter who loves his kids, his cats, his blue heeler and seeing the world with his
wife, Clair.

Ripley has been part of the Inception team for over 8 years.

Ripley gives her paw of approval to everything we do and is at her happiest when she gets to greet our couples at the door.

She also has the dual responsibility of being our personal trainer, ensuring that no day passes without a morning walk.

Ripley’s likes include pats, walks, breakfasts and dinners.

We had an amazing experience with Michael and his team!

We cannot thank him enough for capturing such incredible footage on our special day. We always wanted a full length film of our wedding day & that’s exactly what Michael gave us. He told our story perfectly!

Most wedding videography companies don’t offer more than 15 minute films, which is a big reason why we chose Inception to be part of our day and we are so glad that we did!

We were so comfortable with him on the day. He worked alongside our photographer and they just floated in the background capturing special moments. We barely felt like they were there!
